Some diseases such as parvo and distemper are contagious to other patients. Despite this they still need care so Animal Haven has a special isolation area set up to AAHA standards in order to prevent the hospital transfer of any of these problems to other hospitalized or boarding patients.
Kennel cough can also be a problem an often it isn’t even evident immediately. Animal Haven makes every effort to keep these animals out of the general population. It is particularly important when coming to see your vet that you keep coughing dogs outside until a doctor can take you to a special exam room. This way other patients in the waiting area won’t contract the problem.
